Although it's only a cartoon, here's your chance to meet the "real" great pumpkin Charlie Brown! It was the subject of conversation on The Mike & Carla Morning Show and it's record setting size.

The owner named it "Michael Jordon" after the NBA icon, saying like Mike, his pumpkin is the greatest of all time. According to an article put out by SFGate, it was grown in Anoka, Minnesota. What put it in the record books was not only the size, but it's weight.

The Record Setting "Great Pumpkin" Weighs Over 2700 Pounds!

Weighing in at 2,749 pounds, it tip the special scale and put it in the Guinness World Record books! This beat the old record set which was set at 2,702 pounds. That record set just a couple of years ago with gourd grown in Italy.

The M&C Morning Show shared audio of the owner of "MJ" and the moment it broke the record. But, as we said, before it could be weighed, they had to find a scale big enough to get the job done.

The owner and the person responsible for the the record setter is Travis Gienger. He actually teaches horticulture at a college in Minnesota. And he's been growing the natural jack-0-lanterns since he was a teenager.

In fact, setting a record is nothing new for Travis, since he did it last year as well. And if you're wondering, Travis did make a little money off the squash. According to the article mentioned above, it took about $15,000 to grow, when he sold it at $25,000...you do the math. But it's reported that he did get an extra $30K just for breaking the record.

It's all in a days work for Travis as we're sure he will put it to good use....and already has! Check out the audio from this morning and happy Halloween from all of us on The Mike & Carla Morning Show!
