Tinder Select Offers New Elite Tier for five hundred dollars a month

Tinder has announced a new high-end membership tier called “Tinder Select.” They say it will cost a measly $499, and get you special access to the “most sought after profiles” to enjoy “exceptional connections.” Yes – that’s FOUR HUNDRED NINETY NINE dollars, A MONTH! And for that price, Tinder Select will gladly find you a date.

A Five Hundred Dollar Date:

Would you ever normally consider dropping five hundred dollars on a date? Not the ACTUAL date, but just the APP to FIND the person for you to date in the first place?

Tinder has just announced a new exclusive, high-end membership tier called “Tinder Select.” At $499 a month, or – SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR!

Wait – if it’s so exclusive, and so good, why would you need it for a full year? And if you have this dough, why are you on Tinder?

For that price, I would expect a personalized experience with human matchmakers. But no. It’s still just the normal Tinder algorithms, you just get special access to Tinder’s “most sought after profiles” so they can enjoy “exceptional connections.” Whatever that means.

What You Get For Six Thousand Dollars On Tinder:

There are a few other perks, like being able to direct message others without matching. But you can only do that two times a week, and only if the other person is accepting DMs. And you also get to test new features and hide ads. So – Five hundred dollars a month to hide ads!

If you’re an avid VIP Tinder user, who’s wealthy, this may be worth a shot. But it seems like it’s mostly a status thing, since Tinder gives these folks the ability to add a special “select” badge to their profile.

How to Be A Tinder VIP:

Interested? Sorry, Tinder’s website says they’re “not currently accepting applications,” but keep checking back.

They say they’ll open it up to their most active users on a rolling basis. But they want to keep the number of “select” users to less than 1%. This seems ridiculous, but some people LOVE this kind of exclusivity.

Tinder has supposedly had “secret” VIP memberships for years. But this is the first time they’ve offered one up publicly.

And yes – there seems to be a lot of ambiguity around what that other $450 gets you. But you can get some casual perks in Tinder’s usual subscription tiers, which run about $20 to $40 a month.

As the meme goes: Tell me you’re rich without telling me you’re rich.

Instead of getting to know each other, the focus shifts entirely to the dancers on stage, leaving little room for real interaction. Although, someone on Reddit admitted to having a first date at a strip club. They even turned it into something positive. “The trick is to never take your eyes off your date to prove your loyalty,” they wrote.

Funeral
It’s a super sad and serious occasion where people are mourning and trying to cope with loss. Also, not the time to try and spark a romantic connection. It would be so awkward and totally disrespectful to everyone there. First dates are supposed to be fun and light-hearted, not filled with grief and sorrow. On a Reddit thread, a woman recounted an awkward experience she had while attending a funeral with a date. Expressing her discomfort, she wrote, “God rest your soul Grandpa Jack but if I’m ever introduced somewhere as a ‘special friend’ ever again I’m gonna unalive myself.” YIKES!

Suggesting a sex shop as a first date destination is a cringe-worthy nightmare. It’s like entering the ultimate awkward zone. A little league game as a first date, especially when you have no relation or ties to the kids playing, can be quite a cringe-inducing situation. While supporting children’s sports is admirable, this setting may not be the best for getting to know each other. Why not splurge a little and go for a major league game or a minor league event instead? It could be way more fun and exciting. There was a Redditor who shared their rather unexpected experience of going on a first date to a little league game.”I was pretty excited for a baseball game date until we pulled up to a local field where kids were playing…and no he didn’t have kids.”

Sure, it sounds classic, but think about it. You’re sitting in the dark, not talking, and trying to get to know each other while silently munching on popcorn. There’s zero chance for meaningful conversation or bonding. Plus, you can’t gauge each other’s reactions to the movie, which could be a bit awkward if one of you hates it and the other loves it. From my own experience, just know that it’s a challenge trying to get to know someone while a movie is blaring sonic booms and people around you are constantly munching their popcorn and obnoxiously slurping their drinks.

An abandoned construction site as a first date is a recipe for disaster. It’s not only dangerous but also incredibly creepy and uncomfortable. While geocaching can be an exciting and adventurous activity for some, it might not be the best choice for a first date. Geocaching involves using GPS coordinates to find hidden containers or “caches” outdoors, which can take you to unfamiliar locations and sometimes rugged terrains.
