Some of the best pizza in Las Vegas is now some of the best pizza in the country.

There's not really a cuisine you can't find in Sin City, on or off the Strip. And now, one of our local pizza places landed on a list of top 50 pizzerias in the entire country. 50 Top Pizza just released its list of the 50 best pizzerias in the U.S. in 2023. And coming in at number 18 is Pizza Rock.

50 Top Pizza, a guide based out of Italy, said that Pizza Rock's owner Tony Gemignani "conquered Las Vegas" with his pizza style (50TopPizza.it). Or styles, as it were. Gemignani's menu offers Classic Italian Pizzas, Classic American, Roman and more. And fans love the maxi pizza, a huge pie meant to be shared by many people.

Pizza Rock has been in Las Vegas for ten years, when their first location opened in the downtown area. It was the brain child of three friends, one of which was Gemignani. With his 13-time world pizza champion expertise with him, Gemignani brought his gourmet pizzas to the first location in Sin City in 2013.

In 2015, Gemignani opened another Pizza Rock in Green Valley Ranch in Henderson. And now he also has two locations in Allegiant Stadium. Locals have said that what sets Pizza Rock apart has a lot to do with the ambiance of the restaurants. It's not your casual pizza joint. It's more of a nightlife vibe version of your favorite artisan pizzeria. In fact, they have DJs spinning music every Thursday through Sunday night.

Pizza Rock was the only pizza place in Las Vegas to be named on the 50 Top Pizza list. Another honor for Gemignani. New York dominated the list, taking four of the top ten spots, including number one. Jersey City, Portland, San Francisco and Phoenix also had locations that landed in the top five.

‘Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives’ Featuring Las Vegas Cantina

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives has just featured a Las Vegas restaurant, yet again, for one of their shows.

The popular Food Network show is putting the spotlight on a local cantina. And for good reason. The food is delicious, and the ambiance is casual and fun. The eatery is called Letty's De Leticia's Cocina. Located in the heart of the Arts District.

Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Roots In Las Vegas

It's no secret that host Guy Fieri loves him some Las Vegas food. As a UNLV alumni, Fieri has a soft spot for our little town. And even though he has many restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip, Fieri knows some of the best eats are found off the beaten path.

Letty's De Leticia's Cocina is located at 807 S. Main Street, across from a bail bonds place and next to a law firm. But there's no way you can miss it. It's the adorable little building painted in vibrant colors that makes it stand out. It's exactly what you would expect from a restaurant in the arts district.

And whatever chef Leticia Mitchell does to the food gives it the same vibrancy in its flavor. Reviewers are constantly beside themselves with the food, as well as the whole experience of dining at Letty's. The amazing eats. The famous cocktails. The live music on the patio. It's just something you have to do.

A Smaller Vversion Of Leticia's Cocina & Cantina

Just to clear up any confusion. Both restaurants are owned by Leticia Mitchell. Both serve the same amazing food. But Leticia's Cocina & Cantina in Santa Fe Station is more of a sit down place with a hostess and servers. Whereas Letty's is a casual café where you order food at the counter and take it to your table. You can eat outside on the patio or inside, in front of a beautiful mural of Frida Kahlo.

And if whether permits, you should eat on the patio. With colorful umbrellas and raised planters full of flowers, you'll appreciate the experience. And Mitchell is planning to make even more available outside with the construction of a patio bar.

Look for Letty's De Leticia's Cocina on this Friday's episode (March 24) of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives".

And now that you know where to go for dinner tonight, here's what the locals say you should order.

Quesatacos

Seared Oaxaca cheese stuffed with all kinds of goodness. Yum.

Chilaquiles With Tomatillo Sauce

Locals are saying the Chilaquiles at Leticia's restaurants are the best in town. Especially with the tomatillo sauce, but you can choose other sauces as well.

Fresh Corn Tamales

This is the part of the story where the writer suddenly vanishes with those movement clouds in her place...cause she just ran to get some tamales.

QuesaBirria Tacos

"Amazing" and "incredible" are a few of the words many locals use to describe Leticia's QuesaBirria Tacos.

La Fresca Margarita

You have to. It's award winning!

Cubano Torta

Leticia's has many torta options, but locals say the Cubano is amazing.

Enchiladas

A local favorite is none other than the enchiladas at Letty's. Try it with the mole sauce! So good!
