Our friends at Onlyinyourstate.com have put together a list of the best day trips in Nevada. "Nevada is a wonderfully diverse and beautiful region that offers so much more than its famous Las Vegas casinos, while that is also a fun aspect of the Silver State," they explain. "Often overshadowed by Utah and California, Nevada has natural scenery in its own right that is well worth exploring." That's all very true.
They highlight different day trips, depending on how long you want to be gone. So, what if you're looking for a one-day trip? I'm the kind of person who likes to sleep in my own bed, so I definitely prefer shorter road trips.
Best One-Day Nevada Road Trip:
They say the best one-day road trip is Reno>VirginiaCity>Gardnerville>Lake Tahoe>Incline Village. The distance is 133 Miles, and the driving time is 3 hours and 22 minutes. According to Onlyinyourstate.com, this trip can be completed with one tank of gas. They suggest to start the trip in Reno at Peg's Glorified Ham N Eggs, which is known for its fantastic breakfast items. They also suggest visiting the National Automobile Museum, Idlewild Park, Virginia City's Cafe Del Rio, the Washoe Club Haunted Museum and more.
Of course, Reno is very far from Las Vegas, so if you're in Sin City, you're best to pick another trip. Find Onlyinyourstate.com's full list of great Nevada road trips here. Some of them, although longer than one day, are close to Las Vegas. So, you have plenty of options to drive this season.
