How Do You Pronounce Alex’s Last Name Correctly
It’s something that has been happening since he became a Vegas Golden Knight. How do you pronounce Alex Pietrangelo’s last name? That’s what has been the hot topic lately since we’ve been hearing “Alex Pietrangelo” pronounced all sorts of ways during the playoffs.
The Mike & Carla Morning Show noted that announcers on ESPN and other networks have their own way of pronouncing it. But what is the correct way? It might still be up in the air, but Alex has told us all the correct way to say it.
Now keep in mind that it’s not that he’s a rookie in the league. He’s been playing in the NHL for 13+ seasons. It’s not like announcers shouldn’t know how to say his name correctly. You think of all the other tongue twisting names in the league, Alex’s last name should be fairly simple.
Okay, so how to you pronounce Alex “Pietrangelo” again?
But with all that said, some people still have a tough time with it. Although spelled P-I-E-T-R-A-N-G-E-L-O, it’s been explained as “PA-trangelo”. Seems simple enough right? Then why are NHL announcers having such a problem with it?
How about we just go with “ALEX P”? Or even shorten that up to “A-P”? Maybe that might be the easiest of all! Either way, The M&C Morning Show touched on the fact that since he’s little love tap of a slash, Alex is out for Game 5. The Athletic put out an article out on the play and what the suspension will mean to the VGK.
Standing at 6’3″ and weighing in at 210 pounds, he will be missed on defense for the game, but will return for Game 6. The NHL playoffs is known as the “Second Season” and there’s a reason why! Each playoff series is a best of seven. There are three rounds you have to get through to get to the Stanley Cup Finals. Of course, if the VGK make it, they should have plenty of time to practice saying Alex’s name!
