Netflix Doing Away With Physical DVD Service
I know what you’re thinking, we didn’t know Netflix still did this! Well surprisingly, they still did! Netflix started out with the DVD rental by mail service and then got into the streaming service. Once streaming became so convenient, the physical DVD service lost major steam.
Netflix became the biggest movie/show streaming service in the world! Ted Sarandos, CEO of Netflix said that after twenty-five years, Netflix will stopping the Blu-Ray and DVD service. If you’re still using your DVD player to watch movies from Netflix, don’t panic just quite yet. You might want to brush up on your online streaming skills though, because you’ll have until September to do so. September 29th to be exact. That’s when the service will cease completely!
Since the birth of their streaming service, Netflix has gained about forty-million subscribers over the years. And if you’re curious, the very first DVD Netflix ever shipped was “Beetlejuice”. It was shipped to a subscriber on March 10th, 1998! For a total of nine years, they offered this service, until they added on streaming online with your at home DVD rental subscription.
