Listen: New Music From Jethro Tull
Well, here ya go…it’s been awhile since Ian Anderson and the band Jethro Tull has put out new music, but it’s here! The band formed back in 1976 in the small town of Luton, England is back!
The Mike & Carla Morning Show sampled a track from Jethro Tull’s forth coming album being released in April.
Now Ian Anderson has been the front man from the beginning. Along with original members Jeffrey Hammond and John Evan, the band was named after an 18th century British agriculturalist.
Of course, with other band names at the time like The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Hollies, it seemed a little odd that the guys would choose this name. By the way, hang on to that music fact for Music Trivia night it if ever pops up!
Constantly changing line-ups and musical direction, it was the release of their album Aqualung, featuring “Locomotives Breath” that broke through! Hitting main stream classic rock stations and breaking into the Top 10 on Billboard Album Charts at #7.
Even with it’s success, it wasn’t without it’s problems technically and causing conflict within the band. Despite all that, Jethro Tull has continued to rock, play “live” and clearly record new music.
Throughout the years, Anderson has stayed busy touring himself throughout the world play his music and the music of Jethro Tull. Different formations of the band under different names has kept fans up to date with the music through the past 50 years.
With it’s familiar rock flute at the forefront, the band is set to release their 23rd studio album in April. So, Tull fans rejoice, enjoy the new track and let us know what you think!
