Celebrating: ‘National Toilet Day’…Just Be Careful
As you know, everyday is something, so over the weekend we found out its was National Toilet Day…a time to celebrate the commode! The Mike & Carla Morning Show thought we should celebrate, but this morning, talk about those injuries as a result of the toilet.
Now we know a lot of people are thinking, what injuries can you actually get from a toilet? Well, you might be surprised…we really didn’t think much of it until the phone lines starting lighting up with people that actually suffered from an injury as a result of their toilet.
Come to think of it, according to official stats, over 40,000 people are injured a year as a result of their encounter with a toilet! What’s not funny is that toilet seats become loose, they can shift and that’s where the injuries begin. As we might have a chuckle over all this, keep in mind that English royalty is not adverse to injury on the “royal” throne…dating back to the year 1760 when British King George II died as a result of falling off a toilet!
Even when you didn’t think it was possible, we noticed that people had found creative ways to get injured not only as a little kid, but also as full grown adults. Thankfully, during this segment on The M&C Morning Show, everyone lived to tell about it and no one was seriously injured, but the stories are pretty amazing.
So a note to the wise, make sure your seat is secure before sitting down. It’s doesn’t take much to tightening them, especially knowing there are only two screws holding down the average seat. Just remember as we celebrate the toilet this weekend, as handy as it is to have a well working, functional commode, it can cause harm if not used properly. Don’t take it for granted and use with caution!
Now just sit back and enjoy this segment by listening to it in the comfort of your own bathroom…or anywhere else in the home!
