Madonna ticked someone off on the internet. Shocking, I know. Over the weekend the Material Girl posted something on Instagram that rubbed rapper Cardi B the wrong way. Madonna's Instagram post honored the 30th anniversary of her book S.E.X, released in 1992.
In the post, Madonna took credit for paving the way for other famous female and their sexuality. Madonna claimed she was the reason the younger generation of females have the freedom to be more open with their sexuality without judgement. People captured the post that read:
"30 years ago I published a book called S.E.X....I spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a Woman. I was called a whore, a heretic and the devil. Now Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her ass and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball. You're welcome bitches....🤡"
Cardi B wasn't too thrilled with the mention in Madonna's post. She tweeted in response that she grew up listening to Madonna but didn't think it was necessary for Madonna to make her point the way she did. That she could have done it more respectfully. Cardi B expressed hurt feelings and admitted she is sensitive.
But before things could escalate on social media, there was a phone call. It's not said who initiated it, but the two spoke and cleared the air. Cardi B tweeted soon thereafter that the conversation was beautiful.
Seemed Madonna got the warm and fuzzies from the chat as well, tweeting that she loves Cardi B and always will.
And while everyone definitely loves a happy ending, seems many would have appreciated a good old fashioned cat fight between these two divas. But the day ain't over yet for Madonna...
