Costco has said that as much as inflation continues, the warehouse super store will NOT raise the price of their hot dogs at the food counter! The Mike & Carla Morning Show thought this was great news for everyone! Oh sure, we would love to see gas prices lowered as well as a gallon of milk, but don't mess with the price of such a good hot dog!
If you think about it, as much as we spend at a Costco for groceries for the week, the month, you'd think they'd start handing out the dawgs, with soft drink and a bag of chips! In fact, one listener told us that the mega store loses money every time they sell that hot dog meal...but don't cry! The story is that the store makes up on the losses from their hot dogs on toilet paper...their store brand seems to bring in about half a billion in profits!
We know there's a lot of other great places to grab a hot dog in Las Vegas and probably for a lot less, but be honest, there's just something about a dog from these stores...just like a hot dog seems to taste better at a ballpark watching a baseball game!
So in reality, what difference does it really make if they lose a couple cents with each hot dog...not to mention, it's their own brand! WIN-WIN!!!!! And how many times have you ever walked out of a warehouse store spending less than say $50? Yeah, right...do it seems this one store is actually stepping up and giving back if you really think about it. Okay, it might not be the best victory during this time of high priced, but we'll take what we can get right?
