Bob Dylan is the latest recording artist to sell his music catalog. He sold his entire catalog, which also includes any future recorders to Sony. The exact amount hasn't been revealed, but it's being guesstimated that it's around $150-$200 Million, based on the value. This deal comes after Bob Dylan sold his song writing catalog to Universal Music for $300 Million.
Artists are doing this now because they will get their future royalties up front instead of receiving them over the years, not knowing how long it would last.
