Yes, I DO hike, and Las Vegas has some amazing hikes - but this one was a bit different and definitely interesting.
It's all the way up W. Lake Mead, near the new Reverence development, and it's called Buckskin Cliff Shadows Trail. The trails are pretty rocky, so make sure you have good hiking shoes/boots, to protect those ankles.
There are several different routes you can take. Towards the bottom next to the mountain, or on the mountain itself. No shade, so it makes for a great hike in cooler weather.
I'd call it a city/urban hike on one side, and a pristine mountainous hike on the other.
Mountain bikers, horseback riders - you will LOVE it!
