Google Fixes Issue That Causes Apps To Crash For Android Users
If you’re an Android user has your phone been acting weird lately? Well, you’re not the only one!
Android users couldn’t figure out why their phones kept crashing every time they used their phones. The issue actually stems from a Google system component, according to The Verge.
The Android System WebView software allows Android apps to display web content. However, it wasn’t working correctly so users found their apps to crash every time they used their phone.
Google has fixed the issue by requiring users to update Google Chrome to the latest version and Android System WebView to version 89.0.4389.105.
According to users, removing the latest version of Android System WebView worked for them. Samsung even recommended removing the latest update of Android System WebView.
The issue first popped up for Android users late Monday afternoon. Thankfully, the issue was resolved the same day!
Hi! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please remove the Webview Update and then restart the phone. Here are the steps: Go settings > apps > tap the three dots in the top right corner > show system apps > search for Android System WebView > select Uninstall updates. ^Nina
