What kind of topping do you like on your pizza? The average person or the more traditional pizza coinsure might say pepperoni, sausage or even pineapple, but GRASSHOPPERS? The Mike & Carla Morning Show found out that Evel Pizza right here in Las Vegas has gone viral for serving up pizza with grasshoppers on it!
Evel Pizza, located downtown on Fremont Street has blown up because of this new topping and reviews are coming in that say it might be better than it sounds! When you think of the different pizzas on their menu from "Balls to the Wall" to "Hog Heaven", but it's the one with the little hoppie things on it that people are most interested in! Now this is nothing new to those who frequent Evel Pizza, but it's getting a lot of attention as of late!
If you're wondering, no, these are not the same type grasshoppers that invaded Las Vegas a couple of years ago...on the contrary, these are imported from Oaxaca, Mexico! On the menu listed as the "Canyon Hopper" pizza, which one would be lead to believe it has something to do with Evil Knievel jumping the fountains at Caesars Palace, but guess again!
You should also realize that the "Grasshopper Pizza" has other toppings on it as well, such as chorizo, goat cheese, sprinkled with caramelized onions, a bit of arugula, and, not too mention lime and garlic-roasted grasshoppers. And you'll be happy to know that you can buy it by the slice as well...then if you like it, buy the whole pie!
Not sure how many people will be eager or even running downtown to try this new concoction of a pizza, but I myself have problems when I see someone has put pineapples on a pizza...so not sure if I'll be tasting it in the near future. However, from those that already have, the reviews are good so far...so what do I know?
