Carla Rea letting you know, it’s that time of year again in Pahrump – STOMPAPALOOZA at Pahrump Valley Winery!
Saturday, October 8 from 9am into the beautiful evening hours, Pahrump Valley Winery will be hosting one of the most fun events in Southern Nevada, and YES – you are encouraged to be Lucy and Ethyl, and give it your best stomping! Whoever presses the most juice during their four minute grape stomp wins the KING OF THE STOMP crown for 2022! As far as this wine lover is concerned, there’s no better crown to wear.
This is the end of Harvest celebration for the grapes being fully picked for the year, and the time when the winemakers turn the grapes into beautiful wine for all of us to enjoy!
There will be a full tasting bar, cornhole, ladder toss, live music by Emalyne, wine pong – yes, I said WINE PONG – and more!
If you didn’t know, now you do: Pahrump Valley Winery is the only full commercial winery in the State of Nevada, They only vint Nevada grown grapes, and they do sell a few other very well crafted items from other wineries. They have won Winery of the Year two years in a row, from LUX Life, along with Best of Las Vegas awards for Symphony Restaurant.
As a wine lover, I can tell you this is a huge event that is going to be a blast! Tickets are 25.00 for general admission and 35.00 to stomp as well as admission. The tickets are for sale on the www.pahrumpwinery.com or can be purchased at the door. But definitely HURRY BEFORE IT SELLS OUT!
KKLZ will be there from 10am until noon (maybe longer, cause there’s wine…)
Some of my recommendations:
The Pahrump Valley Burgundy: Smooth and easy. No tannins.
The Nevada Ridge Barbera: Spicy cloves, nuts and black currant. with a smooth textured finish.
The Nevada Ridge Mourvedre: This is one of my favorite grapes. Their Nevada Ridge Mourvedre is a fragrant lighter bodied wine with strawberry and plum flavors.
Vinho Doce Port: Barrel aged sweet red wine, with hints of sweet raspberry, caramelized sugar, rich plum and toffee.
Definitely have lunch or dinner at Symphony Restaurant if you head out for a wine tasting – the food is fabulous – and much better to taste *drink* wine with something in your stomach.
SEE YOU SATURDAY IN PAHRUMP!
