New Additions Might Be Coming To The Las Vegas Boneyard
It’s become quite the place to see when in town, but there could be some new additions to the Las Vegas Boneyard. Also known as the Neon Museum, it might benefit from the closing of the Mirage after all.
The Mike & Carla Morning Show talked about the possibilities that would come from the recently closed casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Although the marquee might be a little too big, there is one other piece of history we might want to see laid to rest in North Las Vegas.
That would be the Mirage arch way that was over the entrance to the resort and to the parking garage. Not quite as big as the marquee itself, but something that locals and tourists alike relate to when entering the property.

Another item that might find it’s way to the Neon Museum might not even be a sign…but a statue. It seems with the change over at the Mirage to the Hard Rock, there might not be a new for the Siegfried and Roy bronze statue.
According to an article put out by The Monumentous, it’s been very comfortable sitting at the Siegfried & Roy Plaza since for years. Since starting there back in 1990 when Steve Wynn thought they were better suited for their own theater at the Mirage. But now the discussions have been, “what do we do with this statue?”
According to a report on Channel 3, the talks have been to transfer the statue to the Neon Museum! It’s that big and heavy where it might be the only place for it.
It might need a little work, but to move this thing will take quite a lot. Finding it a home could be a problem. But if everything works out, it shouldn’t be too hard to see it at the north end of the strip with all the other Las Vegas collectibles.!
