Parents: What Age Do You Allow Your Kids To Pierce Their Ears
It’s ultimately up to the parents, but what at what age do you allow your kids to get their ears pierced? This was the topic of conversation this morning on The Mike & Carla Morning Show.
Clearly his old enough to get it done and dad thinks it’s fine, but mom has the problem with it. Which right off the bat seemed kind of odd. But dad has given the thumbs up and mom thinks the kid will get bullied.
So we wanted to know this morning how young were you when you had it done? Mike O’Brian admitted that he has never had anything pierced on his body. However, Carla Rea said that she was initially scared to have it done and waited until she was 19 years old .
How Old Before You Get Your Ears Pierced
According to an article from the University of Utah last year, that it’s a parental decision to decide at what age to get their kid’s ears done. And in some cultures, it’s as young as a few days after birth!
A lot of listeners had no problem getting their ears pierced when they were young. Or even helping their kids do it. One fact that did come out was have a professional do it.
One young lady said that she had had her ears pierced the way it’s supposed to be done…with your 13 year friend and a potato!
Not really the way you want to go. Mike didn’t think he’s 11 year grandson would do it, but found out his dad was a little more progressive. Mike’s son-in-law had his ear pierced when he was 9. His mom took him and when he got home, dad was not real fond of the idea.
Nonetheless, it all came out this morning that it’s just what people do now…so all in all, it’s not that strange. Boys or girls are all getting their ears done. Now, if they would just leave it at that!
If you feel the need, take a couple of minutes, listen to the segment from this morning and tell us what you think. It’s safe to say that the mom might be making a mountain out of a mole hill!
