Guy Uses $8 Vintage Walt Disney World Ticket To Get Into Park

If you recently tried to get into Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World, you faced high ticket prices. You're looking at a $100 and up for just one day. And let's be honest, if you're booking a trip to the Disneyland Resort, you're not just doing one day. Multiple days are a must for any Disney Resort trip. One lucky person on TikTok didn't have to pay those high prices though. Here's how they did it.

Matthew Ables, @MatthewAbles on TikTok, was digging through some of his families stuff when he found a vintage ticket book with tickets to Walt Disney World. One day at the park is valued today at $164. But not only did Matthew not pay that high price, he was able to use his vintage ticket! The vintage ticket was valued at $8. The ticket was from the 1970's. The ticket was never used and it surprisingly didn't have an expiration date, allowing Ables to use it. Nowadays, you not only will shell out a ton of money for a day pass, but the pass does expire.

Ables did what most kids do, they go to TikTok to post about their lives. He posted on TikTok about his rare find. Then he filmed him actually getting access into the Magic Kingdom with it. Ables told NBC Miami, "I was getting nervous there because she started aggressively stamping 'void' all over the ticket booklet." But did it work, absolutely. He just got into Disney World for only $8. Or in Matthews case, free, since he didn't pay for it back in 1978.

Matthew's TikTok has been view over nine million times. So with what ever money he'd get from his post, he most likely could afford a current day price for a ticket. He took a huge gamble flying to Orlando to see if it would actually work. For his sake and for the TikTok, it worked. I personally would have not used it. It's a piece of history that wasn't ruined or altered in anyway. Sometimes it's just better to keep things how they are. But I also love Disney, so I get the urge to use it.

So what's the moral of Matthew Ables story? You never know what you have lying around and what it's worth or how much it could save you. So start digging through your parent's or grandparent's stuff. You just might find something of value like Matthew did!

It's one thing to go to Disneyland, but to be able to hang out with Mickey Mouse it a totally different thing all together. To spend time chatting about the park and other interesting topics with Mickey is something a lot of people just don't get to do.

Well, The Mike & Carla Morning Show packed up the headphones and headed off to Anaheim for the day. Actually, it was an overnighter with a chance to hang with some other characters as well. Now The M&C Morning Show has done this before, but to have the meet and greet that we had was special.

So special, I even facetimed my 3 year old granddaughter during my time with the head mouse...and she was shocked! She was so surprised to see Papa hanging with one of her favorites. But as kids do, it's never good enough. Before hanging up, she asked, "...where's Minnie?" Do you really think her big time Papa would disappoint?

To tell the truth, wasn't really sure at the time where Minnie was or if she was even showing up. But I did tell her, if she does, we will call back. Luckily, Minnie made an appearance and I grabbed by phone and started calling. Immediately, my granddaughter was talking one on one to her favorite!

We also got to spend sometime with Carla Rea's favorite, Donald Duck! They were all coming by to welcome us to the "Happiest Place on Earth!"  It was truly a treat, but then it was to bed to get up early the next morning to broadcast "LIVE!"

Up the next morning at 3:15am, down in the hotel lobby by 3:45am, then from one shuttle to the next, we were there. Our broadcast table for the next 5 hours! And the reason for the broadcast? To make sure you get excited because starting on Monday, October 16th, you will have a chance to WIN a family four pack of tickets to Disneyland. You'll also qualify for a vacation getaway as well!

When you have a little time to hang out with Mickey, you take the time. It was great just being able to tell him how much we appreciated the hospitality. And he was nice enough to do a little Facetime with my granddaughter!

This is who you really want to spend some time with...the Queen of Disneyland! Minnie Mouse was very hospitable and very engaging during our time at Disneyland!

Donald Duck looked a little surprised to find out that The Mike & Carla Morning Show was allowed to broadcast LIVE from Disneyland. Despite all that, he did agree to a picture...very nice of him!
