Considering we're surrounded by things that are detrimental to our health, we're all seeking that one magical fruit or vegetable that can increase our life expectancy. Well, there is a vegetable or a subgroup of a vegetables called legumes. Scientist found that legumes, also known as beans, could extend your life span.

So you're probably wondering, why legumes? Of all the things to add more of to your diet, why beans. We all know beans make you gassy and will cause you to pass gas in places you may not want to. BUT if you can put aside the downsides of legumes, the positives out weigh the negatives.
If you're looking for nutrients, legumes are the way to go. The usually have nutrients our body needs including high protein and fiber.
The good thing about legumes are there are so many varieties of them and each one provides different nutritional needs our body can use, according to the National Health Institute.
According to Pritkin (a wellness retreat website), they reported on scientists who tracked people from Japan, Sweden, Australia, and Greece. Scientists checked their test subjects periodically over a span of seven years. A total of about 785 elderly people were studied. They found that legumes were the most important food that people ate. "Increasing your daily amount of legumes to 20-grams leads to a 7 to 8 percent reduction in mortality hazard ratio," Pritikin.com said about the scientists' findings.

So, now we know that beans will help contribute to helping us live longer. But, where do you get them in Vegas? Aside from the store and making them yourself, there are a bunch of places in the valley to get some delicious, prepared beans.
The first thing that comes to mind when you think of beans is BBQ spots. And Las Vegas does not lack in that department. Now we get to the BBQ spots. While eating baked beans is probably more healthy than eating BBQed beans, it's still worth eating if you're trying to get more beans into your diet. There's a bunch of spots like Famous Dave's, Jessie Rae's BBQ, and John Mull's Meats & Road Kill Grill!
If you want beans more mashed than whole, of course, you'll look to great Mexican spots to get them. Add refried beans to anything as you know. Sometimes it's given to you as a dip for your chips. Whether you're eating a quick bite at Roberto's or sitting and dining at places like Juan's Flaming Fajita's, you can get a good portion of legumes.

If you're looking for some great BBQ, you're gonna have to travel away from the Vegas Strip, but is well worth it! Road Kill Grill may confuse you. When you go there, you'll find yourself in a residential area. Why? Because the owners basically converted a home into a BBQ joint. When the city realized how popular the place was, they allowed it to continue operation. Don't let it fool you though, the BBQ is amazing! It has locals even driving the distance to eat it on the regular!

This place is amazing! The owner, Mike and his wife have been at this for a while, starting off with a small location and taking their BBQ pit trailer to locations to serve up some great BBQ! And the God Sauce is to die for! Now they have two locations and serving up some amazing BBQ for Southern Nevada! They even have a dish called "The Fortress" which a rack of ribs surrounding Mac N' Cheese, Cross Cut Fries, and more! Named after the Arena The Golden Knights play at!

Don't let the environment fool you! Yes, it's a Casino and hang out, but they also serve up some amazing BBQ! And the best part is the area and environment you get to enjoy it in. If you're wanting to watch sports and grind on some great BBQ, don't skip out on Ellis Island Barbecue!

Yes, it's that Rick from the show "Pawn Stars". Not only is he slinging items he buys from people in his pawn shop, he's also slinging some great BBQ! From traditional BBQ items and sides, to off the menu goodness, you got to try it out!

It may not say BBQ in their name, but they serve up some amazing BBQ at an amazing price! On Wednesday, you can enjoy their awesome BBQ at the restaurant! But make sure to get there early because the locals know that it's served from 4pm-10pm only, so it gets busy!
