MSG Sphere In Las Vegas Finally Gets Opening Date
If you’re a Las Vegas local, the MSG Sphere construction was something of a time warp situation. It was like “whoa…there’s a giant dome over by the Venetian. How long has that been there?” Followed quickly by “That thing has been here forever. When is it going to open already?”
Well now that question has finally been answered. Madison Square Garden Entertainment executives announced this week a September opening date for MSG Sphere, New3lv reported. In their quarterly earnings call they shared information about the construction process.
The LED screens are currently being worked on. And crews are expected to finish that installation process by the end of this month. The screens will cover 580,000 square feet on the sphere’s exterior. And they will all be fully programmable. This makes it the largest LED screen in the world.
This September opening date is the first time the public has had a solid date to look forward to for the new venue. Before that, the MSG Sphere website simply read “Coming To Las Vegas 2023”.
With September only eight months away, people are getting anxious to hear about the entertainment they can expect. U2 has long been rumored to be one of the first headliners to perform at the MSG Sphere. Still, nothing has been confirmed. Though it has been announced that the venue plans to host four to six headliners every year (New3lv).
Between those big shows will be plenty of other events. Corporate events and Esports are on that list. In addition to original and immersive attractions. All utilizing the state-of-the-art technology the MSG Sphere will offer.
The MSG Sphere is adjacent to the Venetian Resort at 255 Sands Avenue in Las Vegas. The arena has a guest capacity of 20,o00 with 160,000 square feet of interior immersive displays. It will offer full 4D effects with spatialized audio. It is the largest spherical structure on the planet. Because…Vegas, baby.

It looks like Area 15 in Las Vegas is about to get some serious competition. This time in the world of immersive entertainment. An Albuquerque based company called Electric Playhouse is looking to expand to Sin City this year.
Electric Playhouse is posting a lot of details this week on their website about the upcoming Vegas location. And it looks seriously awesome! They’ll be setting up camp in the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace. Taking over a space that is more than ten thousand square feet. And they plan to be here as early as this summer.
According to their website, Electric Playhouse in Las Vegas will have something for everyone. They have an entertainment experience for a wide variety of ages and demographics. They say children, teenagers, adults and seniors will all have something to enjoy.
Another exciting thing is that their offerings change daily. So there will always be something new to check out. And their experiences will change depending on the time of day as well. They’ll have options for date nights and birthday parties. Also corporate events or family outings.
When it comes to the demographics they’re inviting, that’s diverse as well. Electric Playhouse promises that “whether you’re a thrill-seeker looking for an adrenaline rush, a culture enthusiast seeking to discover new forms of art, or a food lover looking to indulge in gourmet delicacies, Electric Playhouse has an experience designed just for you” (Electricplayhouse.com).
At their flagship location in Albuquerque, Electric Playhouse is already impressing the crowds. They’ve hosted immersive dining experiences and interactive art exhibits. They’ve also held sports watch parties.
