The last week and a half has been a disaster in the aviation world! Many people were stranded including pilots and airline staff! Why? Because of an outdated system that Southwest airlines was working with.

Their CEO stated that the system they use to schedule pilots, flight attendants, and more couldn't handle the amount of staff the airlines actually has employed. That on top of the horrific weather across the country, Southwest airlines cancelled hundreds and hundreds of flights. This wasn't just one day, it was for over a week!

Airport baggage claim areas instantly because sleeping grounds and luggage storage for thousands of passengers, and it only got worse as the days passed.

As of last Friday, Southwest has somewhat fixed the issue and is not operational again, but many people missed holidays with their family. One woman missed her wedding because her flight was cancelled! So how is Southwest fixing this problem for those affected by all of this? Southwest airlines is offering the passengers affected, with a twenty-five thousand point credit to their account. It sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. It equals to about three-hundred U.S. dollars. So you could technically book a cheaper flight round trip if you booked it at the right time.

Lot's of lawyers have stated that on top of the credit, most passengers (based on certain situations) should also get hotel, car rental, and food vouchers. Some did, but most didn't, forced to sleep in terminals, baggage claims, or even pay out of pocket to stay at a close by hotel, with no clothes or toiletries.

So is the 25,000 point credit worth it? NOT IN THE LEAST! But it is better than nothing. It's one of those "Take what you can get" situations.
