Teachers: The Weirdest Gift From A Student
With Christmas right around the corner, what was the weirdest gift you ever got as a teacher? Or better yet, as a student, do you remember giving your teacher(s) a gift for the holidays? That’s what The Mike & Carla Morning Show wanted to know this morning!
What we come to find out that kids have quite the imagination when it comes to presents for their teachers. A few called in and even more texted in with a dead “skunk” being the winner! If you can imagine a student giving his teacher a dead skunk for Christmas…but you know what, it all worked out. Come to find out that the teacher’s husband was a taxidermist…so maybe the kid should be giving credit for really thinking on what would be a great!
Another teacher claimed that some students gave her a Fruit Loops necklace, but something happened along the way so all she ended up with was a piece of floss to wear! You have to hear the details on that stories and others from this morning.
So flashback in time and try and remember what you got your teacher or if you taught for any length of time, all the gifts that students would come to class with…especially around Christmas time. Can’t believe what some kids thought would make a good gift, but don’t they always say, “…it’s the thought that counts”?
Heck, Carla Rea remembers knitting a scarf for one of her teachers when she was like only seven years old. Can you imagine the forethought that took to learn how to knit, then get the materials and start in enough time to have it ready by Christmas time? And you wonder why she was the teacher’s pet!!
Well, listen to the segment and maybe, just maybe, it might jog your memory as a teacher or even as a kid, what gift you received or delivered as a student to your favorite teacher…enjoy!
