The Mike & Carla Morning Show had more details and the call on the final goal that broke the 3-3 late in the third period! Now after that, that's when it got a little spicy since one M&C listener took exception to using the acronym "VGK" throughout the segment!
The caller didn't understand the use of "VGK" and not using the full name of Vegas Golden Knights when talking about the win last night. Now we all know that a lot of us just use VGK, not only on radio, but on t.v., in the paper and on the internet. But once the caller mentioned it's about branding, M&C were quick to point out that it was apart of the organizations branding that got us using "VGK" in the first place.
Nonetheless, the conversation went on and we come to find out that there was much more to this guy than just using "VGK" and not Vegas Golden Knights. The listener was frustrated with people all together...especially those that can't find a parking spot where there are more than enough places to park!
It did get a little deep, but to hear it, maybe you'll understand where this caller is coming from...or after you listen, you won't. The bottom line is that Vegas got the win and we move on to our home opener tomorrow night against Chicago at the T-Mobile Arena.
This is the 6th official season for Vegas in the NHL and this is the season that owner Bill Foley said this would be the season for the VGK to go all the way. Now it would be pretty tough to top our inaugural campaign when the team went to the Stanley Cup Finals, but this could be our year. So in the end, can we all just shout out in harmony: GO KNIGHTS GO?
