Before the new school year starts, prepare yourself by binging as much TV as you can. Yes, we know this isn't every parent’s ideal scenario, but it needs to be done before you're bombarded with essays.

In order to get in the back-to-school mindset, check out these ten throwbacks after school programs.

1. Bill Nye the Science Guy

Your parents can't get mad at you for watching TV when you’re learning at the same time!

2. Zoom

If you're a true 90’s kids, just reading the title of this show will make you want to sing the theme song.

3. Doug

Nickelodeon was in its prime programming when this show was on the air. Who didn’t like to spend their after school moments with Patty Mayonnaise?

4. Recess

A show about school, after school, and about the best period at school? Need we say more.

5. ABC After School Specials

You have to admit, as cheesy as the show was, it was quite delightful to watch.

6. The Magic School Bus

Just like Bill Nye, you’re technically learning which watching this cartoon. Not to mention, Ms. Frizzle is the teacher we all dream of having at school.

7.  Full House

This show was the ultimate family sitcom. Each episode had a lesson and Uncle Jesse wasn’t bad to look at!

8. Reading Rainbow

LeVar Burton is one of the best television hosts of all time! He make reading exciting and made the show extra fun.

9.  Growing Pains

For all those ‘80s kids out there, you may fondly remember the Seaver family. Double points if you recall a young Leonardo DiCaprio on the show!

10. Laverne & Shirley

Before Taylor Swift’s girl squad, these two ladies were friendship goals. We always wanted to be their third roommate!
