Since we live here, we just want to know if Las Vegas the best city to celebrate St. Patrick's Day . . . And it's no surprises here that Boston took the top spot.
We think that was a no brainer considering the criteria. So, what does it take to rank high when it comes to celebrating St. Patrick's Day? That would include the number of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita to the lowest price for a three-star hotel on St. Patrick’s Day and also include the weather forecast.
Now according to WalletHub, they looked at major cities for all the assets mentioned above and came out with their list. The list includes 200 cities throughout the country that takes pride in celebrating St. Patrick's Day. However, there are some townships that made the Top 10 where you might think...really?
For example, the town of Naperville, Illinois comes in at #8! Naperville is a nice little town west of Chicago that takes pride in celebrating on March 17th. Their local parade attracts over 3000 participants and over 15,000 parade goers each year. Of course Naperville is filled with Irish pubs from one side of town to the other.
In the state of Nevada, Reno ranked the highest with with a score of 60.15. Our neighbors to the north came in at #6 on the best cities to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. We think Carla Rea, from The Mike & Carla Morning Show, will testify to that. Great bars, small town feel and an awesome parade.
Following Reno on the list, if you look a little further down, you see the town of Henderson comes in at #11. It's a three day party on Water St., but they do celebrate St. Patrick's Day a week early. Not sure why, but they have a lot going on and spectacular parade.
So where does Las Vegas come in on this list? Believe it or not, we're a little further down at # 26! We rank high on the weather chart, but not much after that keeping our score at 54.24. Las Vegas just doesn't rate well with Irish traditions, cost, and safety & accessibility. At least we can keep trying right?
