Our favorite Go-Go is on her way to Las Vegas!
Belinda Carlisle announced earlier this year the dates of her summer tour. Called "Decades", the tour is selling out in some cities. Showing a renewed interest in Carlisle's solo career by her fans. The Decades tour began on July 1 in Georgia and includes shows all over the country.
The tour is covering 35 years of Carlisle's hits. Including 20 singles that topped the charts globally from five solo albums. The timing of the tour also coincides with the release of her newest album, Kismet. The EP is the first collection of solo pop music by the musician in more than 25 years.
Belinda Carlisle album details.
For the new album, Carlisle teamed up with Diane Warren. Warren was behind Carlisle's 1988 hit I Get Weak and has written successful music for many other female musicians. Including Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga and Aretha Franklin. It had been over two decades since Carlisle accepted she might not be relevant anymore in the music world.
But when her son ran into Warren at a coffee shop, Warren asked about Carlisle and said she had new music written for the singer. In an interview with Sunday Post, Carlisle admitted she was hesitant to take on a big commitment in her early 60's. But she ended up meeting Warren in the studio and loved the new music.
Kismet is a collection of five new songs written by Warren. Carlisle says she absolutely loves every song, the first of which came out in March. The entire album will be released August 25, 2023.
