Another October is upon us in Las Vegas. And Halloween is right around the corner. If you're like me, you're scrambling to get some family activities under your belt for the Halloween season before it's gone.
Fortunately, Las Vegas is not short on activities for Halloween. And contrary to popular belief (at least from outside the state), it's not all adult-themed stuff. We actually have a lot going on for families. You just need to know where to look.
Anyone who has been to Vegas around Halloween time knows that we don't mess around with this haunted holiday. From pumpkin patches to costume balls, we go all out to celebrate our favorite freaky festivities. And true to form, locals and tourists alike will have plenty of options this year to get their BOO on.
Now those of us who were Vegas residents in our 20's and maybe even 30's (don't judge) know there are two VERY different Halloweens here. There's the Mean Girls Halloween. That's when you can bet you'll see plenty of women on the strip in next-to-nothing costumes. Mouse ears and lingerie anyone? Then there's the Hocus Pocus Halloween. Those are more G and PG rated. That gives families the option of getting their kids involved without having to walk them around in a blindfold.
Of course if you have a kid in school, you've probably already seen flyers for your school's autumn festival and/or respective Trunk-or-Treat. Which is a great way to get them involved. Plus our awesome Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has a lot of their own Trunk-or-Treats happening around Clark County to give Vegas residents a safe way to celebrate the holiday.
We're not going mention those in this list. You can find information about them on your school's website. And click here for the upcoming Monster Mash Trunk-Or-Treat with LVMPD.
Here's the list we put together of family-friendly events and activities around Las Vegas. So you and your family can enjoy the candy-high holiday. :)
