The torch of sexy spy has been passed in the iconic James Bond film franchise. According to Time Magazine, Daniel Craig's 007 successor has been offered to 33-year-old British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Taylor-Johnson has yet to formally accept the role, per the report, but if he does, he would be the eighth actor to take on the role since the film series began with 1962's Dr. No with Sean Connery.

Taylor-Johnson's filmography includes 2010's Kick-A--, 2015's Avengers: Age Of Ultron, 2020's Tenet, 2022's Bullet Train, 2024's The Fall Guy, and the upcoming Kraven the Hunter. The role has been known to catapult the careers of lesser-known actors into major movie stars and sex symbols. The first Bond, played by Connery, was his major breakthrough, for her had only been cast in minor TV films.

Daniel Craig As 007

He would replace Daniel Craig, who has played the role five times, including Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021). As we previously reported, many prominent actors want to be the next James Bond following Craig's exit. Tom Holland "talks about being James Bond a lot," while Dwayne Johnson said he "would like to follow" in Craig’s footsteps and be the next Bond. He added that he has no desire to play one of the iconic villains in the franchise. “You gotta be Bond,” he said.

Other prominent names have been floated as the next Bond, including Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy, and Idris Elba. Though very flattered for being thought of to play the coveted role, Elba has expressed disinterest due to "disgusting and off-putting" racist comments.

Back in 2017, Elba told the New York Times: “It’s interesting that the James Bond thing continues to go. I think it’s more about, we just want to have a Black guy play James Bond rather than Idris Elba, the actor, play James Bond. That’s the part that I'm like, 'Ugh, come on.’”
