7 Year Old Trying To Get Homework Banned

We’ve all had homework growing up, but now one 7 year old has had it and is trying to get homework banned for his fellow students. It came up this…

We've all had homework growing up, but now one 7 year old has had it and is trying to get homework banned for his fellow students. It came up this morning on The Mike & Carla Morning Show this morning and it seems to be gaining some traction. If nothing else, you have to give it to the kid, he brings up a few good points in his video...and his video is going viral!

The kids points out that school is the place to learn...not at home. When you're home, you're there to "chill". Break it down, he feels that teachers are taking about 30 minutes of "chill" time away from them when they're at home and that's not fair.

Is It Time To Ban Homework For Students

We weren't sure what the homework load is right now for kids, parents did text in. It seems to be a good hour every night and a bit on weekends. Is that really too much homework? The M&C Morning Show flashed back to when they were in school.

Mike O'Brian remembers doing his homework, but allowed to enjoy some distractions. One being the RADIO! he was allowed to have the radio on...see how he ended up, maybe that didn't work out as planned! LOL! Carla Rea brought up another good point. With students doing homework on a computer...that indeed might be the distraction!

Oh sure, you're working on stuff, but then all of sudden you get an email, a video or any type of message...that's your distraction! It was interesting looking back on those days and seeing how we all got our "work" done!

However, one listener called in with his theory about it. And it just so happened that math was his favorite subject. He found out that the way they teach math and other subjects is maybe not the best way. In fact, he had his own take on learning, doing homework and more...you should hear it.

Okay, so your assignment is to take a couple of minutes and tell us what you think! And enjoy!

Who Helped You With Your Homework?

Did one of your parents help you with your homework when you were a student? Did you have a tutor? Did you do your homework with classmates who would help each other?

Well, nowadays, there are plenty of websites and apps which offer free help to students who are having trouble completing their homework. One of those websites, Brainly.com, recently sent me a press release about a study they conducted to determine which states' students need the most and least help with their homework assignments.

The results? Well, there's good news and bad news. The good news: Nevada did not make the top 5 in any of the categories they highlighted for lowest scores. The bad news: Nevada did not make the top 5 in any of the categories they highlighted for highest scores either. The Silver State did rank #8 out of the fifty states in the U.S.A. for needing the most help with homework.

According to the Brainly Staff who gathered, wrote, and published the results of this study, some of our neighboring states fared much worse. For example, Arizona had the lowest high school graduation rate. New Mexico shows up with the lowest math test scores. And California claims the honors for the state with the largest high school dropout rate.

You can see which states made the top 5 in categories such as: lowest/highest high school graduation rates, lowest/highest high school dropout rates, lowest/highest math test scores, lowest/highest college attendance rates, lowest/highest reading scores, lowest/highest test anxiety rates, and more information, by CLICKING HERE.

Here are the top 5 states in which students need the most help with their homework, according to Brainly.com.

"The Magnolia State" ranks fifth. Heck, I couldn't spell Mississippi correctly until I graduated sixth grade! (not really)

4) Arizona

Our neighbors in "The Grand Canyon State" rank fourth.
Thank goodness they wrote the name of the state on the blackboard or I might not have guessed that it was
Arizona from the shape.

3) Louisiana

Uh oh, were you able to guess that was Louisiana from the shape on the blackboard? "The Bayou State" is home to "The Big Easy" of New Orleans, but apparently, homework isn't too easy. They rank third in needing the most help.

2) Oklahoma

Sing it with me! "OOOOOOOO-kla-homa where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain!" Nice job! I was a little pitchy though. "The Sooner State" would probably rather not rank second in this Brainly.com study though.

1) New Mexico

The students in "The Land of Enchantment" apparently are not too enchanted with doing their homework on their own. They claim top "honors" for requiring the most help with their homework according to Brainly.com
