The struggle is real when it comes to everyday decisions, like what to eat, what to wear, and what to watch. A survey conducted by OnePoll in partnership with SurePayroll By Paychex, looked into the importance of decision-making and some of the biggest and smallest decisions people struggle to make. To gather this data, they surveyed 2,000 people.

Overall, the study found that 74% of respondents feel sure about their decision-making ability, describing themselves as decisive. On the other hand, those who are indecisive fear making the wrong decision and seek to understand as much information as possible.

The survey also found that there are some daily decisions people struggle with regularly. At the top of the list is what to eat, with 44%. Following behind are what to watch on TV (40%) and hobby-related decisions like what book to read or what to create (39%). Other daily decisions that fell on the list are what to wear (37%), what to buy at the store (36%), and what order to do stuff when completing your morning routine (32%).

When it comes to big decisions, survey-takers put more faith in research (55%). Meanwhile, 55% make pro-and-con lists to help them make decisions. According to the poll, there are five big decisions that many of us take our time with. The top five are buying a house, getting married or divorced, starting a family, changing jobs, and moving.

Also found in the study is that 27% of people regret a big decision they made when they were young. The results also showed that 27% regret a decision about their career. Similar regrets were shown in the results with certain parenting decisions they’ve made and regrets about their significant others.

Some decisions are big and require time and consideration. Others aren't that big, but we struggle with them anyway. Take a look at the complete survey results here.
