After 37 Years, Las Vegas Man Retires From Burger King

It’s an amazing story, after 37 years, a Las Vegas man is retiring from Burger King after never missing a day of work. That in itself is amazing, but the fact that he walked away with only a gift basket did not go over very well with others. Kevin Ford put in over three decades with Burger King at Harry Reid International Airport. This was the “Feel Good” story on The Mike & Carla Morning Show…and it was a feel good story!

Well, after all this time, he finally called it quits and as a way of saying “Thank You”, BK decided to give him a GIFT BASKET! Whoa! All right, 37 years, never missing a day of work and you’re giving him a gift basket? However, according a story in the Mirror, clearly that didn’t go over very well with friends and former customers. So, after posting a GoFundMe page, the account ballooned to over $400,000!

Now the story even gets better with Kevin. Since receiving the money raised, he has put it to good use. Right off the bat, Kevin bought himself a home! According to the article, he moved out to Pahrump and bought a 3 bedroom home. It has a fenced in yard and quite the mountain views. He wanted to do something for this family…oh, and with the rest of the money, Kevin is ready to retire!

Think about it, after over 3 decades of work without missing a day, this guy can finally sleep in! He has a wonderful home for his family and now can relax and have fun with his grandchildren. Say what you will about working at a fast food joint, but this guy did it and look how his story wraps up! Truly a man with a strong work ethic that hopefully has been passed down to his children and his grandkids!

When it comes to the “drive-thru”, what are the fastest fast food places that are the fastest? Well guess what? The #1 place might just surprise you. But before The Mike & Carla Morning Show get to that, just a few facts about the recent study that was published by CNN.

Now keep in mind that fast food places have one job: Providing you with the food you want . . . FAST. So employing the use of “mystery shoppers”, the study wanted to grade various places on their overall customer experience. Again, keep in mind that when you go through a “drive-thru”, you do it for one reason, you want your food fast!

We all want fast food fast!

But what if you don’t get the food you want, and it’s not fast? That’s where a lot of places ran into a problem…of course the good news is that many of the places we frequent got good grades on “accuracy”, but speed was the problem. So if it takes a few extra minutes, do you want your order correct or fast! How come we can’t get both seems to be the big question! However, Arby’s and McDonald’s tied for first place when it came to accuracy!

Just so you know, when it came to speed, Chick-fil-A was last…now this could easily be that this iconic burger spot always has a long line of cars waiting for their orders. Not an excuse, just stating a fact.

You have to remember that only 10 chains were included in this study and Starbucks was not one of them. Last but not least, what’s the biggest error when trying to get the drive-thru order correct: Your beverage!

With that said, considering the criteria for making it into the Top 5 on this list, clearly this establishment has it down and that could very well be the reason it comes in at #5 on this list!
