College Board, as part of its "Big Future" initiative, surprised Paola, a Spring Valley High School student, with an unexpected announcement that she had won a $40,000 scholarship - a monumental leap from the initial $500 scholarship she thought she had won. Paola is now one of only two students nationwide to receive this prestigious top prize, according to News 3.

The heartwarming moment unfolded when a College Board representative informed Paola that she had not won the $500 scholarship she had initially hoped for. However, little did she know that the real surprise was yet to come. Their data was configured over three categories which included Chance for Success (January), School Finance (June) and K-12 Achievement (September). The overall grade is the average of the three separate scores.

Nevada finished 50 amongst all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The state scoring earned 68.6 out of 100 possible points. That is the equivalent of a D plus grade average. The country ranked at a C grade average. Find out more about their education research within each category.
