Cities And States With The Best And Worst Drivers In The U.S.
When you visit other cities and states, you probably judge the way people are driving there. Whether they drive better than where you’re from or way worse. Well, you’re not wrong for thinking this and most of the time, you’re probably right.
Consumer Affairs did a comprehensive report asking people which cities and states have the best and worst drivers. You’d think the answer was simple. People responding with the state they’re currently from. But you’ll be shocked with the responses. They analyzed data from the Department of Transportation and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
They ranked the cities based on four things… crash fatalities per 100,000, the number of fatalities due to bad driving, DUI’s and speeding.
Bad Driving
When asking about bad driving, they brought up things like driving the wrong way in one-way traffic, failing to yield, aggressive and careless driving, improper turns, and recklessly changing lanes and tailgating other cars on busy roads.
Which State Has The Worst Drivers
After collecting all the info and date, they found that Tennessee was the worst! Tennessee had four cities in the Top 20 worst cities as well. That included Memphis, which ranked number one as the worst city drivers. The other three were Knoxville at number twelve, Clarksville at seventeen, and Chattanooga at nineteenth place.
