Watch The Hilarious New Barbie Trailer
It’s truly a Barbie world in the latest trailer released for the new Barbie movie.
In the new trailer for Warner Bros. and Mattel’s upcoming romantic comedy, Barbie is breaking free of her perfect universe of dolls and into the human – real – world.
We’ve had a few glimpses of stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the anxiously anticipated Greta Gerwig-directed film, Barbie, but not much has been seen with regards to the supporting cast. The new trailer, and posters, have revealed more about the movie’s Barbies, Kens and humans.
Joining classic Barbie is a really fun cast of Barbies: Issa Rae’s president Barbie, Kate McKinnon’s gymnast Barbie, Dua Lipa’s mermaid Barbie, Nicola Coughlan’s diplomat Barbie, Alexandra Shipp’s writer Barbie, Emma Mackey’s physicist Barbie, Ritu Arya’s journalist Barbie, Sharon Rooney’s lawyer Barbie, Hari Nef’s doctor Barbie and Ana Cruz Kayne’s judge Barbie.
A few of Barbie’s more notable family and friends like Skipper, Christie and Stacie aren’t featured in the posters, but there is one character from Barbie’s longtime inner circle – Midge. Barbie’s longtime best friend who was introduced during the toy line’s vintage days.
In later iterations, Midge eventually married *a male doll named* Alan, has kids and gets pregnant. The doll, which was pregnant during its Happy Family line series, got a lot of criticism from parents who believed Midge was too young to be pregnant, resulting in Mattel rereleasing Barbie’s best friend in 2013 but this time, as unmarried, not pregnant and without children.
Mattel moved on from Alan, but the film has not. Michael Cera is featured as the character in his own poster, so it looks like the movie plays with different eras of Barbie.
There are various Kens, a diverse group that reflects the toy line’s modern expansion into more inclusive versions of Barbie’s male counterpart. In 2017, two years after Mattel introduced its more representational 2015 Fashionista line, it debuted 15 variations of Ken, with three body types, seven skin tones, eight hair colors and nine different hairstyles. It looks like many are in the new trailer for the movie.
Barbie is set to hit theaters July 21, and from this trailer it looks great!
Ace Frehley Says He Will Ruin KISS If He Doesn't Get An Apology
KISS band members are shouting out loud, and Ace Frehley says he will ruin them!
KISS has had their share of ups and downs with each other over the years, but I don’t know if it has ever gotten THIS bad.
Paul Stanley recently insulted his former KISS bandmates Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. Now Ace is seriously threatening to release damaging information about Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons unless Stanley apologizes. In a recent interview Paul Stanley took some really cheap shots at his former KISS bandmates Ace Frehley and Peter Criss,
In an interview with Howard Stern in early March, Stanley was asked why they didn’t play with KISS for their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction. He said, “[The Rock Hall organizers] were demanding, quite honestly, that we play with the two original guys, Peter and Ace. At this point, that would be demeaning to the current band, and also would give some people confusion. Because if you saw people on stage who looked like KISS but sounded like that – maybe we should be called PISS.”
Ace isn’t having it! He’s given Paul ONE WEEK to issue a public apology. And if he doesn’t, Ace says he will RUIN both Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons.
Frehley said, he wants a formal apology for what was said, and a retraction within seven days, and if he doesn’t get it he’s going back on The Ed Trunk show and spilling secrets that nobody knows about Paul and Gene, that he says he’s always kept to himself – ” because I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t talk about this. I like to talk about positive stuff.”
Frehley says, “My attorney has it in a safety deposit box. God forbid anything happens to me, my attorney is instructed to release it to the New York Times, Rolling Stone, everybody. “…their careers will be ruined.” He says he has 120 pages worth of dirt on them, and he’ll go public with it: “Those guys aren’t squeaky clean. You know how many lawsuits girls have had against Gene?”
So much for KISS rocking and rolling all night, and partying everyday. It will be interesting to see what happens with this mess.
