2023 Las Vegas Plunge Benefitting Special Olympics Nevada
The Special Olympics Nevada is a local nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals in our community who have intellectual disabilities.
The organization helps children and adults through sports, athlete health, education and leadership. They do this with free year-round training and annual competitions in a variety of sports. Including basketball, bowling, swimming, golf, flag football and more. There are 7 sports annually and 14 competitions.
Special Olympics Nevada typically impacts over 21,000 students each year. They do this through their programs that promote inclusion on school campuses. Each year, the organization invites athletes without intellectual disabilities to play as teammates with the Special Olympics athletes.
Special Olympics Nevada is also committed to improving the overall well-being and health of their athletes.
They offer screenings and services free of charge. These include eye and ear screenings and dental health. SONV’s Healthy Athletes Program makes sure their athletes are able to perform their best, both on and off the field.
