The Reason Women’s Underwear Costs More

It's a question that has been plaguing women for a long time. Why is it that women's underwear cost more than for men? Well, on The Mike & Carla Morning Show we found out and whether you like it or not, it is what it is. A new report out actually showed that the U.S. charges a higher tariff on underwear for women than for men.

We're talking about the import tariff that adds about $1.10 to the cost of each women's underwear item as opposed to men's underwear where it's only 75 cents. Not fair right? Some experts say you should actually "refresh" your underwear collection about every 6 months...which could end up to be a bit costly!

On the other hand, guys...go ahead and wear those boxer shorts forever. As long as you wash them on a regular basis, you are good to go! Maybe that's why more and more women are wearing boxers around the house on the weekends? It seems to be more cost effective.

Didn't know this, but there are three different underwear categories when it comes to women's underwear. And the tariff seems to be higher in each of the categories than men. This is also weird because some countries have a flat rate for all underwear, it's only the U.S. that does not!
