VIDEO: Bret Michaels New Single Brings Back Great Memories
Poison singer Bret Michaels has released his new solo single, “Back in the Day.”
I have to admit, I thought it was just going to be a big pile of cheese, and it IS – in the best way, and I love it!
Michaels says the song is “a modern-day throwback to a feel-good road trip anthem.” It takes you back to a time when we would scan the radio, searching for our favorite song. You can watch the video for the new song right here:
Ironically, the song came to Michaels while he was working with a bit of modern tech.
“I do this TikTok thing, and I show people how I write music,” he explained in a recent interview. He said “I’m laying a beat… playing the guitar. And I’m like, ‘Back in the day, radio played our favorite songs the DJs say. The song just fell together. It’s just a good-vibe song.”
The lyrics went on to be part of the chorus of “Back in the Day.” It’s Michaels’ first new single since 2019’s “Unbroken.”
“The video reflects the feel of early MTV videos with green screen, pop-up captions and never-before-seen photos and original Hi-8 images of my youth,” Michael said in a press release. “It is a song that truly reflects on great times and pays homage to the radio stations and DJs that cranked up the music while bringing us great songs that have withstood the test of time, songs that all my friends and I would sing along to then and now.”
“Music is a universal language meant to unite us, not divide us, and that is exactly what this song is about.” It’s also a hell of a lot of fun to sing along to, as is the video to watch as it weaves a story of my life and the music that rocked it!”
Bret Michaels hits the road for a new tour in July. The tour is called Parti-Gras, Michaels will be joined by Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship.

11 Fads from 2013 And How You Feel About Them In 2023
I regret to inform you that it’s now been 10 years since 2013. An entire decade. Does it seem like a minute ago, or a lifetime ago?
Time moves fast, and fads and trends come and go. For me, and many others, there were parachute pants, off the shoulder sweatshirts, leg warmers, the running man, and cabbage patch dance styles.
Here are some fads and trends from 2013 – a decade ago! They hit just as hard, and fast as any trends, and were very popular – but how do you feel about them today?
Remember the dopey, huge hit song, “What Does the Fox Say?” How about the “goats screaming like humans” videos? Adult onesies? Twerking?
Buzzfeed did a survey on many of those fads, and slang terms, and how you feel about them now. Every generation could easily do a lookback – daily – and your thoughts and opinions would vary. Some things are a really beautiful reminder of a specific time in our life. Some are just a distant memory. Either way, they were a part of our life, and in many ways will forever be.
Remember these words, and phrases from wayyyy back in the 80’s? For me (and you, too): “Gag me with a spoon,” “Gnarly,” “Where’s the beef?”
How about theses from just ten years ago? “Meh,” “Cray cray,” “Deets,” “Hashtag fail.” You may laugh now, but if you used them then, I guarantee you’ll keep using them. To that I say, “Right on!”
Here are some of the specific results from Buzzfeed, and a decade gone by. Feel free to weigh in. No biggee…
