There are quite a few shortages happening here in Las Vegas, but one that you can take advantage of, especially if you're looking for a job, is driving a school bus! It seems this is a problem not only here in Clark County, but throughout the country. So indeed, if you're looking for a job, have a good driving record and a lot of patience, this could be the job you're looking for!

You also have to have a high school diploma and you could end up making a median salary of $31,000.00 per year. But can you handle the kids? That's the big question! You have flexible hours, the benefits are good, and if you think about it, couple of hours in the morning, then in the afternoon. Less than 40 hours a week, the split shifts...other than that, the day belongs to you to do whatever you want to do!

The other good thing is that the shortage of school bus drivers is just not isolated to Las Vegas and Clark County...this seems to be a nationwide problem. So think of all the other places you would want to live, contact the school district and see what opportunities are being offered! Think of it as "I live here, but drive there!"

Keep in mind, aside from all the glitz and glamour of driving a school bus, there are things you have to do to keep the kids safe...including wiping down the inside of the vehicle between shifts to make sure it's clean for the next batch of students. We admit it, it's not all fun and games, but it's what you make it, so if you think it's for you, at least look into it!

All that and a lot more in this edition of "A Few Things We Think You Should Know" from this morning...enjoy!
