‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Gets A ’90s Animated Trailer Remake
Holy smokes, Spider-Man! The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer got a cool ’90s cartoon rendition by YouTube account 100Bombs Studios.
By using footage from the ’90s animated series, the radioactive superhero (voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes) summons Dr. Stephen Strange (John Vernon) for help. The first trailer shattered the all-time viewership record set by Avengers: Endgame in its first 24 hours online, and teased multiversal madness when Spider-Man (Tom Holland) asks Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to undo Mysterio’s (Jake Gyllenhaal) identity reveal that ended Far From Home.
The fan-made remake has gone viral on YouTube, garnering over 500,000 likes since its Wednesday (August 25) posting. The same channel previously made viral recreations of trailers for previous Spider-Man movie, Homecoming, Avengers: Endgame and Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Per Comicbook, the animated trailer uses footage from Spider-Man Season 3 episode “The Sins of the Fathers, Chapter I: Doctor Strange,” where Spider-Man team up with Strange to help rescue a brainwashed Mary Jane (Sara Ballantine) from cult leader Baron Mordo (Tony Jay) and his demonic master Dormammu (Ed Gilbert). Other footage used includes clips from the series finale, Season 5 episode “Spider-Wars Chapter II: Farewell, Spider-Man,” where Spider-Man teams with Spider-Men from other dimensions to battle Spider-Carnage.
Included in the trailer is the Green Goblin’s bomb and Doc Ock’s emergence saying, “Hello, Peter.” It is still unconfirmed if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man characters will be in the upcoming movie, as has been heavily rumored.
