A new Superman show just premiered on the CW (Superman & Lois), and it looks like another new version of Superman may return to theaters. Deadline reports that author Ta-Nehisi Coates is writing a Superman reboot feature for Warner Bros and DC, which J.J. Abrams is producing under his Bad Robot label.
Coates, has written a number of books, including The Beautiful Struggle and Between The World And Me, has also written comic books: he's written Black Panther and Captain America. Coates received a special thanks credit on Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Black Panther.
Little else is known about the film, including whether or not Henry Cavill will return to play Superman. Cavill has played the role three times: in 2013's Man Of Steel, 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017's Justice League (and extended director's cut of the latter film is due out on HBO Max on March 18).
