Former Nevada Governor Leaving MGM to Pursue UNR Presidency
Former Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval is stepping down from his position at MGM Resorts to pursue the presidency at the University of Nevada, Reno. The Board of Regents announced Wednesday a meeting has been scheduled Tuesday to consider necessary action to allow for the appointment of an acting president while it continues a search into September for a permanent replacement to outgoing President Marc Johnson. A 1986 graduate of UNR, Sandoval is seen as a favorite for the job. The popular Republican completed the maximum two terms as governor in January 2019
