Halloween is right around the corner. Along with the perfect costume, and the perfect pumpkin, you need the perfect Halloween playlist.

I don't know if this is perfect, but it's a cool playlist for the holiday that celebrates the spooky, the macabre, the scary and the fun!

Most Halloween playlists have the same songs -Monster Mash, Thriller, Ghostbusters, Werewolves of London, Don't Fear the Reaper. Same old, same old. Great songs, but typical. I want to give you some different songs.

A Different Halloween Playlist

A great Halloween playlist should include the usual's, of course, but I also picked some cool tracks that maybe you don't already have on your Halloween playlist. Some newer tunes, and some way back tunes.

So grab a blank cassette tape, and let's start that "Halloween 2024 Mix Tape." Anyone under 25, ask your parents - or just look it up. But if you ever had a dual cassette stereo, you're already there!

1.  "Disturbia",  Rihanna

2.  "Abracadabra",  Steve Miller Band

3.  "Ghost Town",  The Specials

4.  "Devil in my Car",  The B-52's (Beehives hairdo's might not remind you of Halloween. But it's a popping song to play while driving to your Halloween party)

5.  "Dark Lady" Cher

6.  "Nosferatu",  Blue Oyster Cult (way more badass than "Don't Fear the Reaper", especially for a Halloween playlist)

7.  "Bones",  Imagine Dragons

8.  "Materia Primoris (The X-Files Theme)",  Mark Snow (Really cool, and mystifying vibe)

9.  "Halloween",  Siouxsie and the Banshees

10.  "Zombie",  The Cranberries

11.  "Lullaby",  The Cure

12.  "I Got You",  Split Enz

13.  "People Are Strange",  The Doors

14.  "I Want Candy",  Bow Wow Wow

15.  "bury a friend",  Billie Eilish

16. "Clap For the Wolfman", The Guess Who (no scare, just a fun song)

17. "Theme from Halloween", John Carpenter (obvious, but needed for a Halloween playlist)

18. "Psycho Killer", Talking Heads

19. "Blasphemous Rumors", Depeche Mode (very haunting, dark, and soul-stirring. And very Depeche Mode

20. "Sympathy For The Devil", Rolling Stones (I mean - it's the Stones!)

21. "Witchcraft", Frank Sinatra (I mean - It's Sinatra!)

5 Scary Movies Set In Las Vegas That Are Perfect For Spooky Season

There are a lot of scary movies set in Las Vegas, and they are perfect for the spooky season. But which ones are the best?

Spooky season (Spooky SZN) is upon us, and it's a great time to watch your favorite scary movies. These are some of the best scary movies set in Las Vegas that you can enjoy during the Halloween season.

5 Scary Movies Set In Las Vegas

Recently, we shared some of the best TV shows that are set in Las Vegas. That was a tough list to make because there are so many! Of course, CSI led the way and remains one of the best shows in TV history. Yeah, I said it.

However, there are more than just TV shows set in Vegas. There have been some huge blockbusters set in Sin City too. That includes The Hangover, which is arguably one of the best comedy movies in decades. Not only are there a lot of comedies and dramas, but there are a ton of horror movies set in Las Vegas. It makes sense when you think about it. There's a lot to play off of. There's the desert, the bright lights, taking a gamble...with your life? It makes sense!

Some of the horror movies set in Las Vegas are more popular than others. I bet you'll recognize some of them and you've probably seen most of them! Although looking through the long list of horror movies set in Sin City, it seems like there are a lot of sequels that choose Vegas as a destination. Lots of the movie titles end with "2" or "3" very few seem to be originals and the ones that are seem like direct to VHS--not DVD...VHS.

That's not to say there aren't some major horror movies that picked Vegas as a setting. We'll get to 5 of the best below. First, can you think of any? Which movies are you hoping show up on the list? Hopefully, they do, but if not, let us know so we're aware of more movies set in Vegas! Some of the movies that won't make the list include Vampire In Vegas, I've never seen it so I don't feel comfortable putting it on the list. Resident Evil: Extinction has ties to Las Vegas but also won't be seen on the list. So, what did end up making the final 5? Check out the list of the best horror movies set in Las Vegas below!

Army Of The Dead

https://youtu.be/tI1JGPhYBS8?si=UPUsvjIdyzF2fV1L Army Of The Dead was a great movie! It came out in 2021 and was directed by Zack Snyder. The movie stars Dave Bautista and Ella Purnell. It currently has a 67% on Rotten Tomatoes which isn't bad! The movie follows a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas and a group who try to pull off a heist during the outbreak. It's awesome and has everything. There's a lot of action, some legit scares, and tons of laughs. It's a great viewing experience.

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

https://youtu.be/updoM-EuHrQ?si=-GnTd3dBQZf-7oGK When you think of movies set in Las Vegas, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas probably is the first to come to mind. Granted, it's been a while so maybe it's The Hangover. However, Fear And Loathing remains a staple. It's one of the best. Sure, it's not necessarily a horror movie but there are some pretty scary scenes! Like, really scary scenes that will stick with you for years to come. Or am I just talking about myself?

Fright Night (2011)

https://youtu.be/txgGhyjPZGg?si=ND069f3zm2yDo-I3 Do you remember Fright Night? That was a great movie! Yes, it's also set in Las Vegas. It just doesn't have all the glitz and glamour of your average movie set in Sin City. Colin Farrell is great in the movie (when is he not?). The movie also stars Anton Yelchin, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin!), Toni Colette, Dave Franco, Imogen Poots, and David Tennant. That's a star-powered cast! The movie doesn't let down, either. It's a must-see during spooky season!

Hostel Part II

The original Hostel was a great movie and the sequel was not a let down! It helped keep the franchise going. The sequel was set in Las Vegas! It currently has a 44% on Rotten Tomatoes which isn't bad for a horror slasher flick like this. If you're in the mood for some gore you can't go wrong! There's a lot of that.

Leprechaun 3

Is Leprechaun 3 a good movie? No. No it is not. However, some scary movies are so bad that they're actually good and enjoyable. Does that make sense? This is one of those movies. It stars Warwick Davis, Lee Armstrong, and John Gatins. You can watch it on Peacock right now! It's so bad it's good.
