Kentucky Man Quits Job After Hitting The Lottery
It happens quite a bit, a Kentucky man quit his job after winning the lottery! The man officially retired and is ready to relax. Now keep in mind, it wasn’t the largest jackpot in lottery history, but clearly enough to say to his boss, “I’m not coming back!” According to the article in the Lexington Herald-Leader, James Keown won $100,000 and after driving a school bus for 11 years, he was done.
I just won the lottery and I quit!
After taxes, the former school bus driver is taking home just over $71K, but it’s enough to his bills! So after that, it was time to quit his job and relax with his wife. James and his wife love cats and helping those disabled felines and want to help out local rescues. They couple would also like to buy some lake property to enjoy.
A lot of us would say that $100K is not a lot of money when it comes to winning a “lottery”. But for James and he’s wife, it’s just enough to call his employer and call it quits. Keep in mind, James drove a school bus for the same school district that was in such disarray, that after the first day of school they canceled the second day due to a bus driver shortage! The story even made national news reporting that kids weren’t getting home after the first day until 10pm that night.
Clearly James is done with the stress and just wants to enjoy life! By the way, James bought the ticket at a local Circle K and the store will receive $1000 for selling the winning ticket! So in the end, James got to do what all of us have ever thought about doing in our dreams. Finding out that we won a huge cash prize and the next day calling our boss to say “I quit!”
