Never knew what fans they were, but U2's Bono and Edge pay tribute to their friends ABBA. It was just recently on a BBC Radio Special where they did the song "SOS". Accompanied by 6 female cellist, The Mike & Carla Morning Show actually think they pulled it off.

If you think about it, can you imagine U2 performing the songs of ABBA? Well, The M&C Morning Show give you a sample. Now keep in mind, it's a totally different arrangement than the hit single that came out in 1975.

"SOS" reached #1 in Australia, Belgium, France, West Germany (where it spent 7 weeks at the top), New Zealand and South Africa. However, in the U.S., the song only reached #15 on the Billboard Hot 100.

We're sure you're wondering how does a band like U2 end up paying tribute to a pop group like ABBA? It was Bono who finally admitted his love for ABBA. In an article in the Irish Mirror, he said, "I didn't have the courage to own up to this next band when I was 16 in the middle of punk rock".

With all the success that U2 has had, keep in mind that the group ABBA has sold 150 million records worldwide. They are one of the best-selling music groups of all time Although breaking up in 1982, they still continue to sell records.

Unlike Fleetwood Mac, it was the internal relationships that ended up breaking up this music group. Each of them said that they simply outgrew each other and that a divorce would be the only solution. This not only ended up breaking up their relationships, but the band!

There's always a possibility of getting back together and there have been rumors. Would the world be ready for something like that? Not sure, but we have a feeling that if they did, Bono would be in the front row!
