Mick Jagger is arguably the greatest and / or the most famous front man in rock and roll history. Sir Mick turns 79 years young today and you are probably very familiar with his solo music, all the great music he and The Rolling Stones have produced, and his role as a pop culture icon. But, did you know he is also an actor?

In 1970, he starred in the movie Ned Kelly. It is the seventh feature film released about Australian bushranger, outlaw, gang leader, and convicted police murderer, Ned Kelly. Jagger played the title character in his first on screen role, and according to Wikipedia, he claimed as late as 1980 that he had never seen the film.

Here is the original theatrical trailer:

The film was poorly received. There was also a soundtrack released in conjunction with the film. Per Wikipedia, the music was composed by Shel Silverstein and performed by Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson. Mick Jagger also contributed one solo track to the album.

The "birthday boy" has acted in other movies since that 1970 film, including: Performance, All You Need Is Cash, Running Out Of Luck, Freejack, Bent, Inigma, The Man From Elysian Fields, The Bank Job, and The Burnt Orange Heresy.
