ABBA is one of the most successful bands of all time, by any measure: they've sold an estimated 150 million albums over their career. Mamma Mia, the stage musical and film built around their catalog has grossed over a billion dollars. They've won shelves-full of awards and they're members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But the band has long resisted a reunion.

But now, Deadline reports that the group will release five new songs next year, and they will also hit the road.... holographically (and they'll appear as their younger selves).

The Swedish vocal group – Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Agnetha Fältskog and Bjorn Ulvaeus – had planned on releasing only two songs for their comeback. But the long process between the original announcement in 2018 and now has allowed them time to do more than planned. It will be their first new music in 35 years.

Brian has been working in pop culture and media for about three decades: he’s worked at MTV, VH1, SiriusXM, CBS and Loudwire. Besides working as a writer and an editor-in-chief, he’s also appeared on air as a pundit, guested on radio shows and hosted podcasts. Over the years, he’s interviewed the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, the members of U2, Beyonce, Pink, Usher, Stevie Nicks, Lorde… and is grateful to have had the chance to interview Joe Strummer of the Clash and Tom Petty.
