Paul Simon has appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert a number of times already, but his performance last night might have been his most enthusiastic. Having Stephen Colbert on the frottoir tends to do that.

Simon performed "That Was Your Mother" along with Late Show house band Jon Batiste and Stay Human from the classic 1986 album Graceland. Bastiste traded in his piano for a mini accordion, while Colbert danced around while playing a frottoir, a steel washboard that's worn like a vest in traditional zydeco music. Everyone on stage looked to be having an absolute blast, perhaps even Simon more than Colbert.

It proves at the very least Simon isn't done with performing altogether, even though he wrapped his farewell tour last year. In fact, Simon has a big gig booked for this summer when he headlines the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco taking place August 9-11 in Golden Gate Park.
