New Super Bowl Ad has The Dude Drinking with…Carrie Bradshaw?!

Jeff Bridges released a teaser video last week showing him back as The Dude from The Big Lebowski.  Some were hoping for a sequel, but instead, fans were treated to the latest preview from the newest batch of Super Bowl ads.

In a spot for Stella Artois, two iconic characters from two completely different worlds abandon their cocktail of choice in favor of a Stella. Sex in the City’s Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) enters a bar and just by her presence, a Cosmopolitan is on its way.  However, Carrie says, “Nope. Tonight, I’ll have a Stella Artois.” (GASP!)

Enter The Dude, who moseys up to the bar.  The bartender asks, “White Russian?” The Dude responds, “No, Gary. Give me a Stella Ar-toes,” butchering the pronunciation of the beer in the most Dude way possible.

The Dude then sits at a table near Carrie, and she compliments him on his drink choice.  He responds, “Well, changing can do a little good. The Dude abides.”

As far as pop culture colliding for the sake of the Super Bowl, it doesn’t get more perfect than this.
