Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Bayou Country turns 50 today (January 5) and, thus, starts a yearlong celebration of the band’s incredible three album run in 1969.

The 7-track LP was anchored by “Born On the Bayou” and the hit “Proud Mary,” and while critics weren’t very receptive to the other tracks, the album as a whole served as a stepping stone to CCR’s two other ‘69 offerings:  Green River and Willy and the Poor Boys.
