96.3 KKLZ and Henderson’s Water Street District hosts their annual St. Patrick’s Day parade! This is the second year that we have participated and we were eager for our return.
The Mike and Carla Morning Show walked in 2023 and our midday superstar, Wendy Rush, took over this year. We love to be a part of the community and getting involved is our bread and butter.
Henderson’s Water Street District
Carla Rea has performed a few comedy shows in the Water Street District so the area means a lot to us. The downtown area provides a hub for gathering, building connections and entertainment.
A few of our favorite spots are The Pass Casino, Emerald Island Casino, Mojave Brewing Company, and many of the great restaurants like Water Street Pizzeria.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
We were number 102 in line and marched behind a group of talented Grizzly cheerleaders. We started on E. Ocean Ave. and rounded the corner onto S. Water St. where the real festivities began.
Wendy Rush walked, waved and greeted fellow listeners along the path. Our KKLZ crew was out there in support making it a joyous occasion.
We were originally worried that the weather was going to put a damper on things but the weather stayed clear with no rain, snow or wind. Vegas can be notorious for sudden weather change.
Henderson locals were decked out in their best festive green outfits. Families brought lounge chairs, blow horns and cheer. It was a sea of green and honestly not a bad looking sea.
The Downtown Area hosted a mini festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday which featured a mini ferris wheel, local food vendors and games. The parade lasted about two hours which left enough time to enjoy the local spots and festival.
We can’t wait to return for another year if Henderson’s Downtown Water District will have us again.
